RIG Enterprises Ltd is a company incorporated in England and Wales with registered number 11223423, and is registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration number [ICO REGISTRATION NUMBER].

We are the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.

This policy explains how we look after your personal data when you visit techdental.com, listen to or engage with The TechDental Podcast, contact us, or subscribe to our communications. It also sets out your privacy rights and how the law protects you.

Summary

  • We do not sell your personal data, and we do not allow third parties to monetise it.
  • We do not collect special category data. This includes information about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership, health, or genetic and biometric data. We also do not collect information about criminal convictions or offences.
  • We collect very little. Most people who use this site never provide us with any personal data at all.

We do not sell or rent our mailing list, and we do not share it with commercial partners.

We share personal data with a limited number of service providers who process it on our behalf. These currently include:

  • Our podcast hosting provider
  • Our email delivery provider
  • Our link shortening and analytics provider
  • Our email and productivity provider
  • Professional advisers, including accountants and legal advisers, where necessary

Each of these acts under contract and may only process your data on our instructions.

We may also disclose personal data where we are required to do so by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not permit any third party to monetise it.

International transfers

Some of our service providers are based outside the United Kingdom, including in the United States. Where your personal data is transferred outside the UK, we take steps to ensure it receives an equivalent standard of protection, relying on UK adequacy regulations or on International Data Transfer Agreements and the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, as appropriate.

How long we keep data

  • Enquiries and correspondence: up to two years after the matter is closed, unless we need to keep it longer
  • Email subscriber data: until you unsubscribe, and for a short period afterwards to record your preference
  • Guest and contributor records: for as long as the relevant content remains published, and for a reasonable period afterwards
  • Business and financial records: for six years, in line with UK company and tax law
  • Website analytics: in line with the retention periods set by the relevant provider

Where data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymise it.

Keeping your data secure

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, multi-factor authentication on our accounts, and providers who maintain recognised security standards. We keep data to the minimum we need.

No transmission over the internet is entirely secure. If we become aware of a personal data breach that meets the relevant threshold, we will report it to the Information Commissioner's Office and, where required, tell you.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • Rectification, so that inaccurate or incomplete data is corrected
  • Erasure of your data in certain circumstances
  • Restriction of our processing in certain circumstances
  • Data portability, so that you can obtain and reuse your data
  • Object to processing carried out on the basis of legitimate interests, and to direct marketing at any time
  • Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent. This does not affect processing carried out before you withdrew it

You will not have to pay a fee. We aim to respond within one month. If your request is complex, or if you have made a number of requests, it may take longer, and we will tell you if that is the case. We may ask you for information to confirm your identity before we act.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk, or by telephone on 0303 123 1113. We would appreciate the chance to address your concern first.

Guests and contributors

If you appear on The TechDental Podcast or contribute written material, we will process your name, role, organisation, biographical details and the recording or text itself, in order to produce and publish that content. Published episodes and articles form part of a permanent editorial archive.

Because of that, requests to remove published editorial content will be considered on their merits, taking into account our legitimate interests in maintaining an accurate published record, alongside your rights. We will always discuss this with you.

Children

Our website and podcast are directed at professional audiences and are not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page, with the date it was last updated shown at the top.
